Children
came to Le Petit Blanc restaurant dressed as characters from my books
for the Sunday Times Literary Festival's story tea. The children looked
fantastic in their fancy dress. I wore Silly Cat's bobbly antennae and

I ran a workshop for 60 children based on story themes, characters, and drama in the Turkish story The Dance of the Eagle and the Fish. This formed part of the 'School Days' programme in the Cheltenham Festival of Literature. The children taking part from three schools made it feel as though the eagle really soared and the sea really babbled and "a shimmering creature suddenly leapt from its depths, scattering salty water into the air."
